About Us
My name is Arielle Mayer. I was born in South Florida in 1977, and moved to Southern California in 2003.
I am a math teacher at a title-1 public high school in the California desert. I have been teaching since 2010, and I love what I do! It’s hard work, but so worthwhile when I see my students graduate!
I enjoy spending my free time with my family, friends, and our adorable cats. I love traveling, hiking, photography, visiting the migrating monarch butterflies, creating acrylic pour art, rockhounding, going to concerts (Pearl Jam, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Faith No More, Tears for Fears…), watching movies (Star Wars, Marvel, Fantasy…), and playing board games.
I’m Kyle Mayer, and I was born in Chicagoland in 1981. I also moved to Southern California in 2003.
I play drums for a touring rock band, and have been a musician my entire life. It’s difficult to be away from home, but bringing happiness to thousands of fans is worth every moment!
When off tour, I love spending quality time with my family, friends, and our amazing cats. When I have time, I enjoy hiking, GoPro videography, creating wire-wrapped jewelry from the rocks we collect and polish, writing music, cooking, and enjoying relaxing time at home.
In 2020, my best friend in the whole world, my sister, moved to Nashville, TN from Los Angeles, CA. Her husband is a musician, and Nashville is, after all, Music City! Upon visiting, I fell in love with her neighborhood, East Nashville.
Kyle and I decided to look for a property nearby. We came across 118 Lucile! The street name and the blue door of the front house reminded us of one of our favorite shows, Arrested Development. If you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend it. It’s hilarious!
We immediately put in an offer on the property, and they chose us! It was meant to be! This beautiful gem is quite historic. The Loose Seal was built in 1910. The Happy Giraffe Hut was added later (we believe it may have been in the 1990’s). We have been fixing these beautiful homes up to bring in some modern conveniences and make the space very comforting and welcoming; and, we are so happy to share them with you!
Having this great property in East Nashville is such a dream! Having you as our rental guest allows us to plan for our future retirement, and gives us a special place to visit every year, so close to my sister!
Every piece of furniture, decor, and all of the supplies were hand-picked by me (Arielle). I am very picky, and only settle for the best in comfort and design! I hope you absolutely love staying here in our gorgeous little home in East Nash!
